Dr. Carol JohnsonThe week of April 23-29 is National Volunteer Week, and in observance of that, I want to focus on some of the outstanding community organizations and individuals who are serving our schools and our students in many different and productive ways. And this is also National Administrative Professionals Week (formerly Secretaries Week), and these individuals also work tirelessly serving our students and our schools. Without the contributions of volunteers and community organizations that support education, and without the daily assistance given by administrative professionals throughout the district, our lives and the lives of our children would be sorely lacking!

MCS Reads With the Redbirds” Campaign Celebration

Rescheduled for Monday, May 8

Due to weather conditions on April 20, our reading wrap-up campaign event, "MCS Reads with the Redbirds," at AutoZone Park has been rescheduled for Monday, May 8, when the Redbirds take on the Iowa Cubs at 7:10 p.m. New vouchers will be issued for admission to this game. Any tickets that were previously purchased for the April 20 game may be transferred for use at the May 8 game by calling the Redbirds ticket office at 721-6000.

The Last MCS Blue Ribbon Night at Chick-Fil-A is Next Tuesday!

One last time for the 2005-06 school year, schools are urged to round up their herds and MOO-VE their students and staff to “Eat Mor Chiken!” The last MCS Blue Ribbon Night at Chick-Fil-A is next Tuesday, May 2.

Teachers Sought for New School in Binghampton Community

Beginning Wednesday, April 26, Human Resources will begin accepting applications for vacant teaching positions at the new school in the Binghampton community.
