Rosh
Hashanah, a holiday that marks new beginnings, will be observed by
our students, parents and staff of the Jewish faith beginning
today. Rosh Hashanah officially begins at sunset this evening, Monday, October
3 and ends at nightfall on October 5, commemorating Jewish Year 5766.

Goes Back to School-AAS Partnership Week
Encourages Community Involvement
“Citizens
visiting their neighborhood school will be able to see first-hand what
goes on during a typical school day,” said Peggy Jones, community
partnerships coordinator. “They will see how faculty and staff
are preparing all of our students to be successful, productive citizens
and the future leaders of our city and country.”

year, Frayser Elementary Principal Elaine Stewart-Price had already

too much or copping an attitude, but this year is different.

Hepatitis
B Shots For 2005-2006 Scheduled
Any
Memphis City Schools employee interested in receiving Hepatitis B shots
may get the shots for free beginning this month. Although the shots
are not required, some employees who have more direct contact with
students, such as teachers, school nurses or custodians, may wish to
take advantage of the offer for free shots. Those employees need only
to show their MCS ID badge when they go for the vaccinations.
