Messick Adult Center, 703 S. Greer, is located near the University of Memphis between Spottswood and Carnes. Operating as the only all adult facility in Memphis City Schools, the Messick Center provides a centralized site for a variety of education and training programs and community activities. There are no designated districts or boundaries. Satellite centers are established yearly throughout the city.

  Adult Basic Education and GED

ABE classes are designedto help learners in the areas of reading, writing, mathematiic, communication and computer skills. The higher levels offer learners what they need to pass the GED test, or to receive their Adult Equivalency Diploma.
