Many schools offer before and after school child care services for students in grades K-6. These programs may be sponsored by the individual schools, YMCA, YWCA, Park Commission or other state approved organizations. The fees for this service are set by the sponsors and paid directly to the sponsor. School sponsored school age child care programs assist students with academic growth, as well as, social and cultural growth. These services assist working parents. Some middle schools offer extended hours after school, providing academic, social, and recreational activities.
