Industry-based certifications are valuable, professional credentials — regardless of where you are in your career or education. IC³, MOS, CIW, and Cisco Career certifications such as CCNP are globally recognized standards for digital literacy, desktop computing proficiency, web development, and networking applications.  Industry certification:

  1. increases employee competence, productivity, and credibility;
  2. demonstrates candidates' abilities to effectively use industry-based software;
  3. tests for relevant skills employees actually use in the workplace;
  4. and supports the hiring process by providing a reliable measure for screening and selecting individuals for employment and/or advancement.
IC3 or Internet and Computing Core Certification consists of three tests:  Computer Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online.  The IC³ program enjoys worldwide recognition as the global standard for digital literacy.

MOS or Microsoft Office Specialist exams and MCAS or Microsoft Certified Application Specialist exams are available for Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook.  There are also levels of certification available, such as Core, Expert, and Master.  As the official certification for the Microsoft Office family of desktop computing software, Microsoft Office Specialist is designed to prove computer skills and desktop productivity in the programs that have become the standard for businesses around the world.

CIW or Certified Internet Web Professional exams test for skill in web development, project management, e-commerce, and security management.

CIW is growing in popularity and credibility, with more than 80,000 CIW certifications earned globally in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. It is recognized as the standard Internet certification by academic institutions, corporations, commercial learning centers, top industry associations and media.

Cisco  Career Certifications are attainable at three levels:  associate, professional, and expert.  The Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) certificate is regarded as the foundation certificate for people seeking careers in the networking field. The highest certification level is CCIE or Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert.

Various paths (or tracks) such as Routing and Switching, Network Security, and Service Provider are available so individuals can match their certification path to their job role or industry.
