Memphis Job Corp High School : Resource Program

As part of a joint effort to improve academic and vocational skills, the Memphis City Schools and the Memphis Job Corps Center established the Memphis Job Corps High School Academy in the fall of 2004. The academy is located within the Center's facilities. Students 18-22 years old are eligible to attend the residential facility. Students who meet the Department of Labor Job Corps entrance requirements can receive vocational skill instruction, develop occupational trade skills, and earn a high school diploma or GED certificate. Students must meet all Tennessee State standards and pass Gateway Exit exams in order to receive a high school diploma. Eligible students at the Job Corp High School Academy must have previously earned a total of nine (9) high school credits prior to leaving school. Exceptions can be made based upon Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE), Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP), or Gateway scores.

The Division of Exceptional Children and Health Services provides academic resource instruction to assist students who have previously been identified as eligible for services. These services are designed to assist adult students in earning their high school diploma and meet vocational and trade certifications.
