Elise Neal

Overton High School 



Born and raised in Memphis, Elise Neal left Overton High School and her home town at the age of 17 to study dance and acting at the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts.    
She landed her first major role in David Merrick's Broadway musical, "Okay." While living in New York, she also appeared in numerous TV commercials, including a soap ad that led to a place in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), and played a regular character in the daytime drama, "Loving."  

Elise’s Hollywood career took off in 1992, when she began starring in music videos and industrial films in Los Angeles. Her prime-time TV roles include the hit NBC series, "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," and “The Hughleys.” She made the most noise of her career guest-starring as a recovering breast cancer patient on an unforgettable episode of "Chicago Hope.”  

Elise’s feature film credits include "Let It Be Me," “Paid in Full,” “Rosewood” and “Hustle & Flow,” for which she was nominated for the NAACP’s best supporting actress award.
