Dr. Jeffery Warren was born in Abingdon, Virginia and is a physician at Primary Care Specialists, Inc. Married with three children, Dr. Warren graduated cum laude from Yale University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. He attended the Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Columbia – Presbyterian Medical Center and his residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He served in the Public Health Corps in 1983 and was a Attending Fellow in the Department of Community Medicine and Ambulatory Care in Queens Hospital Center in New York City. Dr. Warren has served as a Memphis City School Board Commissioner since January of 2005; his term expires in 2008. Dr. Warren is also a member of the Budget, Capital Investments, Policy and Legal, Mental Health and Personnel Committees, and is the representative for the County Commission and Shelby County Schools. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Tennessee Medical Society/Shelby County Chapter, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Medical Directors Association and other professional organizations. He has served in several university appointed professorships at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center’s Department of Family Medicine and at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He has also served as medical director for several area nursing homes. Among the honors Dr. Warren has received are the Golden
Apple/Teacher of the Year Award and the Outstanding Clinical Instructor
of the Year from the University Of Tennessee Department Of Family Medicine.
