Welcome

The use of information technology is advancing Memphis City Schools into the 21st century. The success of the Department of Information Technology (IT) depends heavily on how rapidly and effectively IT can respond to the ever-changing district operational needs. The pace of Memphis City Schools’ business operations continues to accelerate with each passing day. Internal customers, employees and stakeholders are all demanding increasing value and higher levels of service.
More than ever, the relationship between operational units and IT is changing. For many years operational goals have been the driver of IT change, but increasingly technology is the leader/enabler/facilitator and operational units the partner/ beneficiary. Empowered by IT governance and enterprise architecture, the next generation IT will bring more value, flexibility and agility. This will signify the End of Business as Usual.
