2008-2009 HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL TSSAA DATES

 

July 28, 2008 – Aug. 18, 2008          Dead Period

Aug. 19, 2008 – Oct. 24, 2008           Weight training and conditioning permitted. No open facilities and no practice.

Oct. 26, 2008 – Nov. 17, 2008           Dead Period

Nov. 18, 2008 – Dec. 31, 2008          Weight training and conditioning permitted. No open     facilities and no practice.

Jan. 1, 2009 – Feb. 9, 2009                Weight training, conditioning, open facilities permitted. No practice

Feb. 9, 2009                                             Practice begins.     After team is eliminated from tournament series, coaches may be                                                                     involved in a coaching capacity with students in their school in summer programs or                                                                     on non-school teams.

March 9, 2009                                         Date of First Contest.

March 16-20, 2009                                Memphis City School’s Spring Break.

Week of Apr. 20-25, 2009                   Tentative period for MIAA HS City Championship events (Meetings, Playoffs, and Finals)

End of school until June 21, 2009 No practice regulations

June 21, 2009 – July 4, 2009            Dead Period

July 6, 2009 – July 25, 2009              No practice regulations
