Visual
and Theatre Art are totally interwoven in human existence and experience – assuring quality of life as producers and consumers of stage
performances, TV, documentaries, films, scriptwriting, directing, creative
inventions, architectural advancements, advertisements, plays, movies,
computer graphics/animation, fashion, fine arts, and all other products
designed and created by human hands and creative minds. As students
learn “in” and “through” the Arts, they become
sensitive to their own creative ideas, the creative thoughts of others,
and cultural diversity. Through education, students learn to analyze,
evaluate, and appreciate the dramatic and visual arts around them. As
they discover meaning in words, sounds, actions, and images, they respond
from their own personal thoughts, feelings, and life experiences. As
students experience the creative process, they are better prepared to
recognize the “parts-to-whole” aspect in all structures,
including those in language arts, math, science, and social studies.
