Cyber School - Mission & Goals

Program Mission

The Memphis City Schools' District Technology Plan states, "the mission of instructional technology is to provide staff and students with a rich teaching and learning environment combined with best practices that result in higher levels of achievement for all students." To meet this challenge, the Division of Instructional Technology offers Cyber School Staff Development.

Program Goals

Cyber School Staff Development addresses the concern that many teachers lack the skills needed to effectively integrate technology into the curriculum. Memphis City Schools is striving to meet the ideas found in the District Technology Plan.

Goal 1

All teachers in the MCS district will have the training and support needed to demonstrate an understanding of the operations and concepts, ethical, cultural, and societal issues related to using technologies responsibly.

Goal 2

All teachers and other support staff ill utilize technology communication tools and productivity tools to support student projects.

Goal 3

All teachers and other support staff to become technologically competent with the integration of technology into classroom instruction.
