Cyber School - Vision

"Memphis City Schools' vision of teaching and learning is one that incorporates technology to enhance the quality work for all students. In this vision, information gathering, analytical decision-making, cooperative teamwork, small group instructions, and individualized learning will be common place." (MCS district Technology Plan, June 2002, p. 12)

With an increasing variety of resources in classrooms accompanied by high stakes testing and accountability, the Office of Instructional Technology has developed a professional development model which assists teachers and administrators with aligning curriculum, instruction and technology. Schools participating in this opportunity will strive toward improving the teaching and learning environment for their students. As a result of this professional development model, classroom teachers will improve their individual skills, become more confident in using technology in instruction and be better equipped to meet the learning needs of students in today's changing technological environment.
