Crump Elementary Gobbles Up the Competition at Chick-Fil-A

The winner of the October 4th MCS Blue Ribbon Night at area Chick-Fil-A restaurants is Crump Elementary! Crump Elementary turned in more than 300 forms on October 4th.

“I sat there when Rita Porter at Sea Isle got the thousand dollars last month, and I said we can do this, it could happen for us,” said Alonzo Brown, principal of Crump Elementary. “I am just elated that we won.”

Brown said they used several strategies to get parents out on October 4th. They hosted a pep rally, ordered breakfast and lunch from Chick-Fil-A for the staff, sent forms home to the parents multiple times and even had a competition between homerooms.

Crump’s efforts resulted in a check for $1,250 for the school. The school has assembled a committee that will decide how to spend the money.

If you are interested in having Chick-Fil-A visit your school on the next Blue Ribbon event, Tuesday, November 1st, to get students excited about the night, please contact Renee Malone in the Department of Communications and Public Affairs. Remember, you can turn in forms any time on November 1st. You are not limited to dinner.
