Getting Started

The first day of school is August 11.
Here’s what you need to know before you register.
Early Registration dates will be announced soon.
Registration will be held on Tuesday, August 5, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Registration Checklist:
Bring the following items to registration:
- Proof of residency OR copy of approved school transfer
Acceptable proof of residency includes providing at least one of the following: Utility bill (MLGW, telephone, cable), housing rental contract, lease agreement, purchase contract, mortgage statement, deed or property tax statement; homeowner’s or renter’s insurance bill; car insurance papers; car registration; health insurance papers; healthcare medical card; payroll check; public assistance/government benefits check, card or papers; court documents; bank statement; three or more pieces of U.S. mail; a letter from a government agency, healthcare provider or employer; or other documentation deemed credible and acceptable by the school principal.
- Student’s 2007-08 report card
- Student’s Social Security card
Kindergartners and Other New Students:
In addition to the above requirements, you must also bring proof of immunizations and proof of a recent physical examination. In addition, each kindergartner must have a certified copy of his birth certificate as proof that the child was born on or before September 30, 2003.

Don’t Forget the Tax-Free Holiday!
Don’t miss your opportunity to buy tax-free school supplies! From August 1 to 3, back-to-school shoppers can purchase certain items in Tennessee without paying state sales tax. Eligible purchases include: school supplies, school uniforms, shoes, computers, and backpacks.
