About Us

The mission of the Memphis City Schools Office of Grants is to

  • Identify classroom, school and district level grant opportunities that support student achievement and create effective learning environments;
  • Conduct training classes in order to build the capacity of the district to secure grant funding;
  • Facilitate grant-writing teams for the development of grant proposals, and
  • Secure grant funding in support of the district’s strategic goals.

The Grants Office is charged with managing the internal grant approval process through the MCS Grant Protocol, the district’s monitoring system for all Central Office, Partnership and School grants.

The Office of Grants publishes The MCS Grant Link, an online newsletter detailing grant and rebate programs open to teachers and schools. When state and federal grant opportunities become available to school districts, the Grants Office also collaborates with the appropriate district offices and/or community partners to write winning proposals that fund system-wide initiatives for school improvement.

Whenever any teacher, administrator, or community partner seeks funding to support MCS students, please contact the Office of Grants immediately for assistance.
