Kingsbury High School is dedicated to preparing successful citizens and competent workers for the 21st Century. Students who attend Kingsbury learn to integrate math, science and English while they focus on modular tasks and hands-on projects. The interdisciplinary educational philosophy at Kingsbury allows students to incorporate concepts they learn in classroom settings and apply that knowledge in a meaningful way.

Kingsbury's Optional Program has added Mathematics and Technology to put a strong emphasis in those upper level math courses such as Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus and Calculus. The Technology component will include BASIC, Java and Computer Programming.

Students in the Technology program at Kingsbury follow a course of study that requires three years of basic programming language; four years of English, mathematics and science; three years of history; two years of both foreign language and AJROTC; and one year each of fine arts and Lifetime Wellness. Optional students may take honors courses if they meet the requirements.

The 2008-2009 AJROTC Academy is the largest program in the state of Tennessee and one of the top ten largest in the nation. Students in grades 10 through 12 may apply for this Leadership program. Students in the program enroll in AJROTC year two (II), year three (III), and year (IV) honors cadet training, Facing History Honors, and Contemporary Issues Honors. Military Academy Optional students also follow a core curriculum honors program in the content areas leading to Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment opportunities.

While at Kingsbury, qualified high school students may enroll in college-level courses taught by college instructors to earn college credit while earning credit that counts toward high school graduation.

Kingsbury High's Technology/Careers/ Military Science optional students graduate prepared not only to be immediately employed by local industry, but also to continue a formal education at two-year technical schools, four-year universities and beyond.
