Welcome to an exciting school year at A. B. Hill Elementary.

The summer season allows time for some relaxation and new adventures.

The past few months have been highlighted with success for our school.

Many students participated in summer school programs offered by Memphis City Schools. Teachers and administrative staff attended training in literacy, math and leadership.  As well, the district adopted a new reading curriculum which will be implemented this school year.

Due to the high attendance rate of the 2006 – 2007 school year, A. B. Hill met the state and district standards. Academic gains in Math and Reading were also made. This means that our school is once again in “Good Standing”.  This progress is reason to celebrate, and is due to the dedicated staff and parents of A. B. Hill School.  Thank you for your involvement and support.  We must continue to work together during this year in order to experience success.

Important information about A. B. Hill can be found on our school website and in our Parent/Student Handbook.  Please read carefully and review it with your child.  Special points of interest are listed below:

  • Student/Parent/Teacher Compact
  • Uniform Policies
  • Attendance Policies
  • Transportation Rules
  • Behavior Plan
  • Supply Cost List
  • Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
  • Family Engagement Plan/Policy
  • Parents’ Right To Know

A. B. Hill is an excellent Title I/No Child Left Behind school.  Join us in making this year another year of success.   And remember, if you see something you like at A. B. Hill – tell everyone about it.  If you see something that concerns you – come tell me.  You are always welcome.
