A messsage from Dr. Counts

Welcome to Alcy Elementary School, home of the Soaring Eagles. At Alcy we have GREAT students and GREAT teachers. We are committed to maintaining high expectations for all students. We believe in our motto- " If I Try Hard Enough, I Can Do Anything."  Working in conjunction with parents and community members, we know that success in inevitable. Our focus on our vision and mission is as strong as ever and as partners I know we can accomplish any task. Students are a part of a learning environment that promotes the skills required to be responsible and productive members of society. Strategies that we are implementing include the Responsive Classroom Approach, Accelerated Math, Lightspan, and the Classroom Perfomance System. We also offer after school tutoring designed to provide TCAP assistance in Grades 2-5. Students have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities such as the cheerleaders, majorettes, U.S. Dream Academy, and the Charmettes. The teachers, staff,  and I welcome you and the community to witness                                                        the many  wonderful things happening at the best school in Memphis.
