Eagles SOAR High!

 

  • AWMS made AYP for 2007-2008; we continue in Good Standing
  • AWMS was named MCS Read to Achieve School of the Month for the third consecutive year
  • Boys' track team won the 2006 League and MIAA City Championship for the second consecutive year.
  • Girls' basketball team won the 2006-2007 MIAA City Championship
  • Boys' soccer team won their 3rd consecutive League Championship
  • Girls' track team won the League Championship and was runner-up in the MIAA City Championship
  • AWMS was awarded 2005-2006 MEA Middle School of the Year.
  • Fight Free campaign successful school wide; Eighth grade class of 345 students was fight free for 171 out of 180 days!
  • AWMS is participating in the PIPE/YES foundation, which is supported by Coach John Calipari, for the fifth year. The program provides various academic resources, including tutoring to all student athletes.
  • AWMS was once again the recipient of $6500 for the Reading is Fundamental program; all students received 3 free books.
  • AWMS football team won the 2006 League Championship for the third consecutive year.
  • International club supports ELL students and their parents.
  • Student council collected over $200 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Fundraising drive.
  • Students donated over $1000 to the Holiday Giving Tree Campaign
  • FCCLA Club members competed in numerous contests and ran for state-level officer positions; T.S.A. members presented displays at the Mid-South Fair.
  • National Junior Beta Club participated in various community service activities.
  • Show Choir performed at the Principal's Academy and TAMS Conference.
  • Band and Orchestra performed in city-wide events.
