Robyn Liebenhaut, Principal

Welcome to Balmoral/Ridgeway

It seems like yesterday we feared Y2K. And here we are today, seven, almost eight years later still living in a world that is exploding with new technology and information at an unimaginable pace. Did you know that 35 billion e-mails are sent each day throughout the world? To this end, we (educators) must continue to stay on the cutting edge of new technologies and the opportunities that will prepare our students for the jobs of tomorrow that have not even been invented yet.

We have a tremendous responsibility to your children. What an awesome task at hand. We must challenge our students with thought provoking curriculum, show them how to work together to solve problems and, most importantly, teach them how to respect one another.

Again this year at Balmoral.Ridgeway Elementary, teachers and students will participate in the Responsive Classroom, an approach to teaching and learning that fosters safe, challenging, and joyful classrooms and schools. The Responsive Classroom approach has been used, since 1981, in thousands of classrooms and hundreds of schools to help create learning environments where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Throughout the school year, plan to visit our website to learn more about the progress we are
making toward our goals. I look forward to getting to know you and serving your child/children.

Respectfully,
Robyn Liebenhaut, Principal
