                               August, 2008

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2008-2009 school year.  Bethel Grove is a school where high student achievement is a top priority.  Our primary goal is to provide a well-rounded, sound educational experience for all students.  As we begin to embark on the challenges of increased levels of accountability, high standards, and rigorous instruction, it is important that we share best practices, learn from each other, and collectively create an environment that is safe, nuturing, and conducive to learning.  It is my sincere desire to keep a structured environment where expectations are clearly defined.

As principal, I am dedicated and committed to ensuring every child is afforded a qualtiy educational experience.  Bethel Grove thrives on the visiblity of TEAMWORK with a spirit of mutual RESPECT, and school-wide INTEGRITY.  I extend an open invitation to parents, adopters, community partners, and volunteers to join us in our efforts to help shpae, mold, and build successful students by participating in the many programs and activities offered at Bethel Grove Elementary.

I'd like to thank teachers and staff for their dedicated work during the past school term and offer my encouragement, leadership, and support as we continue serving our students.  The expectations are set high as we think of student learning and the development of productive citizens.

I am excited about the start of the 2008-2009 school year as we welcome a new superintendent who will bring new concepts and ideas that will help make Memphis City Schools a "great"  place to educate all children.  Know that we are ready and willing to meet these challenges as we continue our upward journey to maintaining high student achievement!

EVERY CHILD. EVERY DAY. COLLEGE BOUND!!!
