Principal's Message

Hello, my name is Harold Beaver, principal of Brookmeade Elementary, and it is a pleasure for me to welcome you to our school. The faculty and staff are excited to offer you and our students challenging and engaging programs within a safe, nurturing environment.

As you might imagine, Brookmeade is a happening place with our total student population of 334 students. We currently have 314 students enrolled in grades K – 6 and our pupil teacher ratio is approximately 21. We are also very proud of our Pre-K classroom, which supports 20 students.

Children grow up so quickly. The years spent in elementary school become the foundation upon which later successes develop. However, learning should not be limited to the classroom, so I challenge you to get involved in your children’s lives. Here are a few things that you can do at home to help your children achieve in school and in life:

• Talk with your children openly & freely.
• Show your children that school is important to you.
• Monitor your children’s schoolwork.
• Read to or with your children – daily!
• Create a positive home environment for your children.
• Know your children’s friends.
• Help build your children’s self-confidence.
• Spend time with your children regularly.
• Get involved in community activities with your children.
• Set a good example for your children.
• Enjoy your children – watch them play.
