Brookmeade
Faces
Throughout the 2007-2008 Year
We are so proud of our Pandas—young and old. That's why we
often take pictures in the classrooms, in the halls, and everywhere
else. Sometimes these pictures don't fit any of the themes below
and so you'll find them here...smile after smile. |
The
NED Show
August 31, 2007
Telling us to Never give up, Encourage others, and Do our
best, the NED show visited our pandas and brought an afternoon
full of fun and yo-yo tricks. The presenter was truly entertaining
as he wove together a funny story and highlighted it with his
expertise of that little toy. |

Career
Day
November 16, 2006
At Brookmeade, we remind our students that they are college
bound every day. We also help them focus on their future after
higher education. For this reason, Ms. A. Walker put together
a fantastic career day during which students were exposed to
several career choices and speakers who came to answer questions
about their own career paths.

Family
Reading Night
November 16, 2006
Brookmeade sponsored Bedtime Stories to promote reading
by parents and students. Our guest, local author Lashun Stotts,
read from her latest work When I Learned To Read. Students,
staff, and parents had a great time sharing stories and refreshments
while relaxing in their pajamas. We are so grateful to Mrs. Sherry
Johnson for creating a fantasy land in our cafeteria. It truly
was a magical night of sharing the love of reading. |

4th
grade Thanksgiving Program
November 17, 2006
To
celebrate Thanksgiving, Mr. Mullins worked with Mrs. Bell's and
Mrs. Bethea's 4th grade students. With song and dance, they helped
make this autumn holiday more festive. |
Kindergarten
Thanksgiving Program
November 21, 2006
Our kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Fox and Mrs. Gray outdid themselves
when they put this program together for their students. With table
settings made up of historical foods and costumes for every student,
the cafeteria was transformed into an veritable time machine. |

November
Blue Ribbon Celebration
November 21, 2006
Our students are rewarded with Panda Bucks for good behavior.
Every month or so, we reward their good nature with a celebration
full of music, food, and toys which they can purchase with their
Panda Bucks. Along with our Panda Buck Store, it's no wonder our
pandas paw for perfection! |
Spelling
Bee
November 28, 2006
Each year, our 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students put their
spelling skills to the test. This year, over 30 students bravely
faced the challenge and their peers as they attempted to be
the best.
Congratulations to Ambria Anderson and Kaneesha Fullilove, our
2nd and 1st place winners!
See
below for the exciting video of the final round.

Brookmeade
Library
Every student loves coming into Mr. Carr's warm and inviting
library. Whether they are checking out books, reading magazines,
or using the computers, each student has the time to pursue
their interests. Here are some examples of our students enjoying
their library.
The
second group was taken over the holiday
