Still a dream: Diversity an elusive goal as area schools remain largely segregated

At Caldwell Elementary, you'll find classroom after classroom full of attentive, well-behaved students, wearing shirts in the school's colors of red

 

As part of the annual AFL-CIO Martin Luther King Day celebration, the federation and member unions, especially the Transport Workers (TWU), donated 30 computers to schools in the Memphis area, including an entire computer lab to Caldwell Elementary
