Mission Statement

It is the mission of Carnes Elementary School to provide an enthusiastic, safe and positive learning environment with educational experiences designed to meet the individual needs of students.  Through collaboration, continuous assessment, and specialized instruction, we will foster academic success, emotional, physical and social development of all students.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to function as a professional learning community.  We envision a school in which:

• Staff and community unite together for a common purpose and clear goals.

•  Staff works together in collaborative teams to promote learning.

•  We seek and implement research based best practices to improve student achievement.

•  Common assessments are given at each grade level to monitor student progress.

•  We demonstrate a personal commitment to the academic success and general well being of all students.

• Utilize Memphis City School’s curriculum guides and state SPI’s to plan and facilitate instruction.

• Create a variety of instructional strategies to promote students’ success.

• Provide parents with resources to reinforce student learning.
