The purpose of the State Scholars Initiative (SSI) is to increase the percentage of students graduating from high school with a rigorous, defined academic course of study sufficient to prepare them for higher education, the workforce, or the military.

Get It Straight!

 Get It Straight! comes from the Drug Enforcement Administration. This is an online book for kids presented by a group of teens known as the Prevention Posse. The format is appealing to teens. Excellent resource!

Kid Health

This site has a "train load" of information about health, how the body works, a dictionary of medical terms for kids, kids' health problems, dealing with feelings, and growing up. There is a separate section for teens. Well done!

The 4Tests resource links to online courses and provides practice for high-stakes tests like the SAT, ACT, GED, and TOEFL.

Vocabulary, Free Word Puzzles and Activities

Vocabulary is extremely important in SAT exams, and you can brush up on your skills on this site. Participate in these FREE vocabulary puzzles and exercises to enhance vocabulary mastery and help you prepare for PSAT/NMSQT, SSAT, GED, SAT and ACT tests.
