Distinguished Associate Hall of Fame

Eligible Carver Alumni and Carver Associates (i.e., Carver teachers, principals, community leaders, etc.) can be nominated for the Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Associate Hall of Fame (DAA HoF) at age 28. Nominees are those who have made significant contributions to their particular fields of endeavor and those who are active role models in the community may be nominated for this award. Faculty and staff members, who have made significant contributions to George Washington Carver High School or have been outstanding professional or personal role models, are eligible as well.
Selection Process:
Nominations will be evaluated based on individual’s demonstrated life achievements and will reflect the values of excellence, spirit, vision and respect learned at George Washington Carver High School.
Names must be submitted by the deadline with a complete application to the selection committee. The selection committee is made up of the Executive Board and three at large members.
Copies of each nomination form for each possible inductee are compiled and placed before the committee body. The body will then vote for the inductees by blind ballot. Only two individuals will be inducted to the categories. The committee will announce to the membership body their selection and will allow any member that request the opportunity to read pertinent information of each inductee nominated and voted in to the categories.
A majority of the votes by the committee will be considered a consensus and the two inductees will be chosen accordingly from each category.
The Distinguished Alumni (DA) and Distinguished Associate Hall of Fame (DA-HoF) nominees must be:
· Faith-filled people who model Christian values (religious, personal, family)
· Individuals who have achieved personnel excellence (business, professional)
· Individuals who nurture their community through service, stewardship and involvement (community, social)
All George Washington Carver High School DA and DA-HoF nominations are due by August 15 of each year. To nominate an individual, completely fill out and submit a Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Nomination or a Distinguished Associate Hall of Fame Nomination Application (attached).
