Ginny, a senior, is an exceptional student, who is passionate about art. Currently she is taking four Advanced Placement courses, including English Literature, World History, Calculus and Art. Last year, she received college credit for her Writing Exam submitted through the College Board and for her 3-D Studio Portfolio. Her talents range from writing to the visual arts. She also was the only Central High student who took Three-Dimensional Design for the AP Studio Portfolio last year, and she scored a perfect '5' on her 3-D portfolio. Her willingness to work longer hours outside the classroom proved her dedication to the arts.

Ginny won the Memphis City Schools William H. Sweet Award for Academic Excellence. She received a Silver Key for a monoprint for Scholastics Art Competition. She has had a solo show and installation in the First Congregational Church Sanctuary. At the end of last school year, her work was selected for a district-wide art show at the Memphis College of Art. Her flag design for Youth Art Month was chosen to represent the state of Tennessee at the National Conference in Washington.

Ginny was accepted into the Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts and into the Pre-College Summer Program at the College of Art. She is a member of the National Honor Society, holding a 5.1 weighted grade point average. She readily tutors other students. She is also a member of the Student Council and Bridge Builders. As a member of the Art Club, Ginny contributed her time and talent in creating banners for school beautification, pep rallies and homecoming. She also helped design and paint a holiday mural for a local bank. Ginny is extremely involved in the fight for peace. As an advocate for equal rights, she attended Peace Jam Slam and the Peace Jam Anniversary in Denver.
