Student Achievement: Victoria Boyd

THIS WEEK’S WINNER

Victoria, a senior, is a highly motivated student, who excels academically. She is ranked first in her class, holding a 5.0 weighted grade point average. She is currently enrolled in AP Calculus, AP Psychology, Honors English, Spanish III, Orchestra and Economics. She has won the Memphis City Schools William H. Sweet Award of Academic Excellence several times. She is a member of the Executive Board of Central's award-winning Student Council and a member of the National Honor Society. Because of her academic achievements, Victoria was selected to attend Choate Prep School during the summer.

She is a member of the Charles P. Jester Chapter of the National Honor Society. She is a member of Bridge Builders and the swim team. Victoria works with members of the Student Council at a soup kitchen, where they feed the homeless. Other volunteer activities include planning and implementing a blood drive for LifeBlood, participating in the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk and collecting can goods for MIFA. She works with Bridge Builders to erase racism in our city.
