1. Record what you already know about St. Patrick’s Day. Answer the following:
Why do we observe the day?
What was the significance of the legend of running snakes out of Ireland?
Why is the holiday associated with the shamrock?
How has the holiday changed its focus over the years?
2. Open your internet browser. Go to http://wilstar.com/holidays/patrick.htm
and read through the information on Labor Day.
3. Now that you have read about this holiday, answer the above questions as a group. Compare your answers before you read the article to the answers you have now that you have done some research.
4. Use Word to record your answers. Remember, you need to use complete sentences and use the spellcheck.

5. Use the internet to search another site about St. Patrick’s Day to determine if there are differences in your findings according to the sites you visit.
