Mission Statement
The mission of Cordova High School is to encourage student growth and learning by creating a community environment of order and respect for oneself and others, and to provide opportunities which develop the desire for, and practice of, achieving excellence in academics, character, leadership and service to others.

Vision Statement
It is our collective vision that Cordova High School will be a community environment where all students will make constructive contributions to society. We will foster a positive setting that promotes the intellectual, physical, and social development of each student. In cooperation with the larger Cordova community, we will encourage respect for a diverse society while nurturing the self-esteem and self-respect of each student. |

Beliefs |
The faculty and staff of Cordova High School believe it is necessary to:
- Continually strive for excellence in academics, athletics, the arts, and community service by providing challenging educational opportunities for all students.
- Teach a student-centered curriculum, evaluate student progress in a fair and timely manner according to that curriculum, and use that assessment data to make instructional decisions.
- Provide a safe, structured environment that protects the learning community and encourages students to develop leadership and use good judgment.
- Extend opportunities for an integrated curriculum that promotes learning beyond the classroom walls.
- Illustrate to students the strength that results from a diverse population.
- Offer opportunities for students to develop the critical and creative thinking and problem-solving skills needed to function effectively in a rapidly changing society.
- Utilize technology in instruction to improve students’ awareness of and interaction with a global society.
- Facilitate students’ awareness of their own learning styles and best methods for studying and writing, thus relating their knowledge to “real life” applications.
- Provide continual staff development in the areas of instructional strategies, classroom management, technology, issues of diversity and inclusion, learning styles, environmental issues, time management, and mnemonic techniques.
