PDSCC Role

The Memphis City Schools Framework for Comprehensive School Improvement addresses two fundamental issues:

(1) building (strategic) capacity at the school building level, and
(2) helping schools focus on the essential business of schools building and managing effective instructional programs.

The role of the PDSCC is to support the implementation of best practice which will result in better performance. Working as a part of the leadership team with the building principal, PDSCCs are key in continuous instructional improvement.

Did You Know?

Our school is a federally funded schoolwide Title 1 school. Title 1 requires that schools create a positive and supportive learning environment that results in high levels of achievement for all students. Funds are available for academic programs and strategies, additional teachers and other personnel, staff development, materials, supplies, technology, and parent training.

The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act gives parents the right to know information regarding their child's eligibility for Title I services, the services our school provides, and the professional qualifications of teachers and paraprofessionals. We look forward to working with you and your child to make this a rewarding year.

Mission

The mission of Title I in the Memphis City Schools is to provide opportunities for students in Title I schools to meet the same challenging content and performance standards expected of all students.

Purpose

The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.
