Elvis Presley, let’s rock this joint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. His love for music came from attending a Pentecostal church, and listening to Psalms and gospel songs. The start of his career took place at the age of eight when he won $5 in a song contest performing a Red Foley ballad called "Old Sheep." He was interested in country and blues music that influenced his own music that became known as Rock & Roll.

On January 20, 1958, he received a two-year tour of duty with the United States Army. He always drove a heavy truck filled with many soldiers. He really enjoyed serving with other army troops. Before he left the army, he entertained them with a performance.

Elvis regularly performed with country guitarist Scotty Moore and bass player Bill Black. Elvis had 150 different albums and singles. Forty percent of his record sales were out of the United States. Most of his awards were received in different countries. In the United States, he won Grammy nominations from the National Academy of Recording Arts.
