Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year; our fifth year! I hope everyone has had a restful summer and is ready for another exciting, busy and productive school year.

Downtown is a state of the art facility with a strong academic program for both optional and non-optional students. Downtown has a highly qualified dedicated staff committed to ensuring that your child is challenged to achieve.

Our staff has an average of 13.6 years experience and all teachers are certified by the state of Tennessee. Eighty-two percent of our teachers hold advanced degrees. Of that 82%, 36% have at least 45 hours above their masters, 8% have Educational Specialist degrees and 8% have Doctoral degrees. They are dedicated, hardworking, and care about all of our students.

I want to extend a warm welcome to our students and their families. I encourage everyone to become involved at the school. With the strong community support and the involvement of the families, this year promises to be a great one. By working together we can meet the needs of our children.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children. I feel confident that at the end of the year we will all look back with pride at the accomplishments we've made.
