Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower all students to become productive, global citizens  in the 21st century.  This will include preparing them to read with comprehension; write clearly; compute accurately; and use information to solve problems.

Vision Statement

The vision of East High School is to create a positive learning environment in a comprehensive setting that prepares students for life-long learning.  All students will receive the respect, encouragement, and opportunities they need to build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be successful, contributing members of a changing global society.

 

Our Beliefs

  • We believe that student learning is the chief priority for the school.
  • We believe that mastery of basic skills is the foundation for critical thinking.
  • We believe that all students can learn and develop critical and creative thinking processes.
  • We believe that students, administrators, teachers, parents, and community share the responsibility for advancing the school’s mission.
  • We believe that each student is a valued individual with physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
  • We believe that a clean, safe, and nurturing environment conducive to learning must be provided.
  • We believe that curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment of student learning must incorporate a variety of strategies to provide better performances and improve student achievement.
  • We believe that life-long learning is enriched by the integration of a variety of learning activities and assessment approaches.
  • We believe that students’ learning needs should be the primary focus of all decisions made in the school.
