Mission

Our mission is to empower all stakeholders at Fairley Elementary to participate in creating a safe

learning environment where all students have an opportunity to read, write, and compute at high

levels, and become productive citizens.

Vision

Fairley Elementary School’s vision was first derived through input from parents, teachers, students,

and community leaders describing their ideal or dream school. It has presently been revised using

student writings of  “Hopes and Dreams” and surveys completed by all stakeholders. The

School Leadership Team and the Beliefs and Mission Committee summarized the data from the

school Profile as well as the MCS mission and goals, the recent NCLB Act, and our own

school improvement plan.

Beliefs

We at Fairley Elementary School believe:

Learning:

  • All students can learn and should be engaged in challenging, research-based activities that meet individual academic needs and build self-confidence.

Instruction:

  • The curriculum should be aligned with state standards and integrated across all content areas to make learning meaningful and related to student’s everyday experiences.

Assessment:

  • Alternative, ongoing assessment should be used to guide planning and instruction.

Decision-Making:

  • Partnerships among the home, school, and community are essential to effectively make decisions that meet the needs of the students.

Policy:

  • School rules, policies, and procedures are jointly developed and communicated to all stakeholders in a timely and flexible manner.
