Mission

The mission of Goodlett Elementary School is to provide a learning environment and motivational experience for all students to fully develop to become productive and responsible citizens in a democratic and technological society.

Vision Statement

Goodlett Elementary strives to deliver a quality educational program to its students.  We have adopted the motto that, “Goodlett is better than the rest.  We are the best”.  We firmly believe that schools must educate students to become thinking, responsible citizens.  We embrace the philosophy that all students can learn and are capable of meeting challenges and thinking critically when motivated properly.  We solicit the support of parents and the community in reinforcing the idea of the value of education.  We recognize parents as the first teacher and we commend them for their help and encouragement.

All teachers at Goodlett are committed to the educational of children.  Teachers provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes learning and the total child.  Teachers have entered into a compact to assure student success in a meaningful environment.  Goodlett’s educators recognize their obligation to prepare students to be productive citizens in a highly competitive society.

Statement of Beliefs

  1. Students:  All students deserve a quality education and must actively seek to achieve.
  2. Teachers:  The teacher assumes the responsibility for guiding, influencing and causing the students to engage in meaningful and productive work by continuing a life-long commitment to learning themselves.
  3. Parents:  All parents should share responsibility for the child/children’s success and provide positive role models in the home.
  4. Community:  The community should feel a sense of pride in the school and should become involved in its commitment to developing productive and responsible citizens.
