Our Vision
We firmly believe that all children can learn at consistently higher levels when the process of learning is effectively organized and managed by caring, competent adults. It is our duty to engage all students in daily, active, challenging, and successful learning experiences. These experiences are designed to increase their understanding of the real world and to help them make significant connections between what they know and new information. We have an obligation to furnish a safe, nurturing environment, which is conducive to stimulating, meaningful learning designed to equip all students to become productive, responsible, resilient workers and citizens of the 21st Century.
Our Beliefs
We believe...
Education is important and that all children can learn.
The use of non-traditional methods of assessment such as: anecdotal notes, running records, rubrics, portfolio assessments, and evaluations of completed projects should be implemented in the classroom.
Students, teachers, parents, and the community share the responsibility for the support of the school's mission.
Students will be engaged in meaningful tasks that promote higher order thinking skills and address standards mandated by the state/district.
Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process, which takes into account various learning styles and offers developmentally appropriate activities.
In an effort to prepare students to be productive citizens in the 21st century, technology should be incorporated daily into the lives of students.
A safe and physically comfortable environment enhances student learning and enables students to make appropriate decisions.
