Graves Elementary School is located in the southwest area of Memphis, in a middle-class, residential neighborhood. Excellence is our goal. The principal and staff support our vision that all children can achieve at the highest level possible and should experience success on a daily basis.

Graves met target goals for federal AYP in all four goal areas for 2006 - 2007 resulting in higher student academics achievement and status.  Our school consists of self-contained classes from kindergarten through sixth grade level.  Additionally, there is one pre-kindergarten class available for those who qualify.   We have eleven 21st century classrooms , computers in all non-21st century classrooms as well as Title One Computer Assisted Instruction.

Graves offers many programs and services for students.  We also offer guidance services, special education resource, speech therapy, Orff music, primary and intermediate CLUE, resource and CDC classes, Title One services, SAC (School Age Care) programs for before and after school, and library services. Tutoring is offered after school two days a week.

To encourage and support the use of technology, Graves is registered with netTrekker®, an on-line resource for science, social studies, language arts, mathematics, health/P.E., technology and the arts. In addition to accessing on-line tools such as a dictionary, encyclopedia, and an atlas, students can perform searches for specific topics, timelines and famous people at the netTrekker® site.
