Principal Ruby. J. Payne

Welcome to Hanley Elementary School's Web Page!

We are located at 680 Hanley Street in the heart of Orange Mound, one of the oldest and largest urban communities developed for and inhabited by African American home owners.  Hanley's parents, students and staff are very proud of the acclaimed status of our community.  This pride is reflected in the daily operations of the school.  Hanley Elementary is the home of the "Talented Tigers", where academic excellence, multicultural awareness and exceptional character are encouraged.  Borrowed practices from our past Design Model ("Voice of Love and Freedom") continue to support the learning environment. The faculty and staff believe in empowering students to reach their maximum individual potential through positive instructional experiences, collaborative learning and partnerships.

At Hanley, We challenge our students to reach their highest potential through quality work, integrated technology, a nurturing environment and character education immersed in the culture of our ancestry. We provide on-going opportunities for our students to acquire the confidence to demonstrate knowledge through self-expression, tests and competitions.

Our goal is for our students to become productive and responsible citizens in a global society.

Respectfully,

Ruby J. Payne, Principal

I wish you love, peace, progress and prosperity!
