School Vision

The vision of Hickory Ridge Elementray School is to create a learning environment that is academically challenging, safe, and supportive so that all students will be successful in the 21st century.  This will include educating children to read with comprehension, write clearly, compute, think, and reason to accuartely solve problems.

School Beliefs

At Hickory Ridge Elementary, we believe in:

• Learning – Student achievement and good attendance are directly related.
• Instruction – Student achievement is the highest priority in our school.  Clear goals, high expectations, quality instruction and acceptance of one’s actions promote high student achievement.
• Assessment – Assessment measures provide for improvement in the framework of instruction and evaluation.
• Decision Making – All stakeholders are included in the decision making practices that impact our school.
• Policies – Mandated policies of the Memphis City School System are followed and implemented.
