Summer Reading List

All English students at Hollis F. Price are required to write a typed, double-spaced, five-paragraph formal essay based on one book of their choice. The essay is worth fifty points and is due on the first day of class. Books that are not chosen for the essay must still be read and students must prepare for tests on those books at the beginning of the school year. Below are the chosen books for each class.

Students are also responsible to read Gifted Hands by Ben Carson. This text will be utilized throughout the year during the student's AVID and/or Academic Counseling course.
