Mission

Idlewild’s mission is to prepare and equip all students with the knowledge and skills to be productive citizens in an ever-changing global society.

Beliefs

The instructional emphasis should include critical and creative thinking skills to solve realistic problems. A safe, non-threatening environment is essential to student’s ability to excel socially, emotionally, and academically. Cultural diversity should be celebrated and recognized. Self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect. Assessments drive instruction and aid in the creation of a supportive and challenging learning environment. Student attendance has a direct correlation with successful academic achievement. Shared decision-making and communication of policy implementation are vital components of a successful school.

The vision of Idlewild Elementary School is to provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a safe, supporting, and effective learning environment to empower students to become life-long learners.
