The Library Club

Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks Job Corps Academy/Center's first Library Club (LC) was established in August of this year by the Library Media Specialist, Mrs. E. M. Morlan, with 11 students participating. Today the club consists of over 40 high school students.  The goal of the LC is to create a community of people who will work for the common goal of making the school experience at Job Corps Academy and Center the best it can be. The LC promotes student support of the activities affecting the welfare and education of students, supplies educational support, enhances school spirit by sponsoring extra curricular activities, and recognizes students and staff who have achieved special honors and awards. Finally, the LC will enhance the overall library by working with sponsors to make it as student friendly as possible. The LC sponsors are Mrs. E.M. Morlan, Chair, Mr. Tyrone Jamerson, and Mrs. Regina Morris.
