Media Concepts is the entry level course designed to prepare students for the media industry. Course content provides a broad-based exposure to audio, video, journalism, and broadcasting within the media industry. After successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to pursue advanced course work in either the audio or video technology, journalism, or broadcasting areas. Electronic Media Production 1 is an introduction to multi-tract recording including a study of acoustics, microphones, equalizers, compressors, consoles, noise reduction systems, and monitor systems. Electronic Media Management and Operations focuses on simulated and/or real-life electronic broadcasting media production and management activities for students. Projects can center on in-house production of newscasts, special events, and original programming.
