TEEN SAFETY PROGRAM DRIVING SKILLS FOR LIFE INCLUDES EXCITING INTERACTIVE WEB SITEDEARBORN, Mich. – Vehicle crashes are the No. 1 killer of teenagers in America. Nearly 6,000 teens die annually in such accidents, according to the National Highway Traffic Administration. Studies demonstrate that crash rates decline considerably as young drivers gain experience, and Ford Motor Company’s Driving Skills for Life teen safety program helps young drivers learn to improve their skills on the road. To help spread the message, Ford Motor Company’s Driving Skills for Life program includes a Web site with innovative features designed to help young drivers improve their skills behind the wheel while offering an opportunity to win terrific prizes. “We are very excited about this Web site,” said Sue Cischke, Ford Vice
President, Environmental and Safety Engineering. “This program is
primarily Web-based, and we hope to reach teens, parents and educators in The site, www.drivingskillsforlife.com, has a registration feature that
provides visitors with user names and passwords. While on the site, teens
can complete various e-learning modules, pass a safe driving quiz, play Established in 2003 by Ford Motor Company, the Governors Highway Safety
Association (GHSA) and a panel of safety experts, the Driving Skills for
Life program helps teens develop skills necessary for safe driving beyond
what they learn in standard driver education programs. The new Web site
also features elements of Ford’s Eco-Driving program, which teaches drivers
the importance of consuming less fuel and helping to protect the Ford Motor Company, a global automotive industry leader based in Dearborn, Mich., manufactures and distributes automobiles in 200 markets across six continents.
