Principal:  Reginald Williams

Welcome to the "New" Kirby High School!

The difference between successful individuals and individuals who are not successful depends greatly on the choices they make. A lawyer, administrator, teacher, or even a preacher would not be successful if they made bade choices or bad decisions. Would you go to a doctor if they made bad choices relating to your health? Would you continue to go to a dentist who made bad decisions? Finally, would you continue to go to a restaurant, if the service were bad? All those answers would be a resounding, NO.

The same applies to my students at the "New" Kirby High School. We must get to school and to class on time. We cannot consistently get to a job late. We must come to class prepared. I tell my students: "If you are going to box, you take gloves. If you are going to the gym to shoot basketball, you take tennis shoes. If you are going to church or Sunday school, you take a Bible. So, why would you go to a teacher's class without a textbook, paper, or pencil, if these items are going to make you successful in that teacher's classroom? We must respect ourselves, our peers, and especially the adults in this building. Our music has certain lyrics in it. Our students hear this language on televisions, CD's, DVD's and sometimes at home. We must change our negative mind set as we face new challenges. We cannot accept this language in an educational setting.

As we enhance our curriculum in the near future, we will equip our student body with the necessary tools for post secondary education, whether it is obtaining a four-year college or university degree or pursuing study in a four-year college or university degree or pursuing study in a two-year college in a technical field or certificate program. It is my goal, my vision, and platform that we prepare all students to reach their highest potential. Let us continue to make good choices and good decisions daily, as we move from Good to Great!
