The mission of Kirby High School is to create an environment that produces an opportunity for all students to become life-long learners and productive citizens of sound character. Students will learn to read with comprehension, write with clarity, compute with accuracy, think, reason, and use information to solve problems.

Our vision is to become, "a four-star High School" producing high-achieving students in a multi-cultural society. Kirby High School will be known for its comprehensive curriculum that integrates academic and technological studies to provide successful learning experiences for all students.
The internal and external facilities at Kirby High School reflect a positive, safe, and healthy environment for student learning.
- Increase the performance rate in Algebra I for students from 76% to 83% by the end of the 2007-2008 school year, or decrease the number of students who performed below proficiency in all sub groups by 10% in order to meet the state goal of 100% by 2013-2014.
- Increase the performance rate in English II for students from 84% to 93% by the end of the 2007-2008 school year, or decrease the number of students who performed below proficiency in all sub groups by 10% in order to meet the state goal of 100% by 20123-2014.
- Increase the number of students scoring proficient and above on the Writing Assessment.
- Increase the graduation rate for students from 64.5% to 79% in order to meet the state goal of 100% by 2013-2014.
- Increase the attendance rate for students from 87.7% to 93%.
