8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

5:00 - 8:00 PM

Registration requirements

You must bring the original of the following items for registration:

  • Certified Birth Certificate(mother's copy not accepted)
  • Child's Social Security Card
  • Proof of current physical and immunization record on Tennessee School Form. Physical must be valid at time of registration.
  • Two(2) Proofs of Residence
  • Proof of income and/or status-current month's salary must be documented for all who work in household(check stubs, W-2, Income tax returns, letter of termination, unemployment eligibility, Federal assistance eligibility letter)
  • Copy of IEP(If Applicable)

Proof of Residence/Shared Residence

All parents/guardians must bring two (2) approved items as proof of residence for registration.

NOTE: There are additional requirements listed at the bottom of this page for parents/guardians who share a residence.

The following items will be accepted as proof of residence for registration:

  • TN driver’s license or state-issued ID
  • Current Memphis Light Gas & Water (MLGW) bill
  • Lease/rental agreement
  • Public assistance/government benefits
  • Real estate tax receipt
  • Municipal water bill
  • Mortgage statement or deed

SHARED RESIDENCE VERIFICATION

Parents/guardians who live with another person must provide a notarized Shared Residency Affidavit, along with two (2) proofs of residence during registration to the school. The homeowner must also be present and provide two (2) proofs of residence. For questions, contact Student Services, (901) 473-2560.

 

Shelby County Schools’ Uniform Policy

Students are required to be in uniform every day.  We are trying to impress upon students the importance of following the policies set forth by the school.

Dress Code

   Shirt – white (polo style or button down collar) shirt. 

   Skirt /Jumper- tan, blue or black (knee length or below)

   Pants- straight-legged, boot cut, crop, cargo and Capri (colors: tan, blue or black)

   Shorts – walking shorts are straight-legged knee length

   Manufacturer’s logos or brand names cannot be visible on clothing

   Shoes – heels no higher than one and one-half inches.  Athletic shoes, sandals with straps on the heel, and boots are permitted.  Please no flip-flop or loose sandals.

Senate Representatives Visit

Pre-K Classrooms

Who:     Shelby County Schools Early Childhood Program
What:   Representatives from Senator Alexander’s Office Visit Pre-K Classrooms
When:  Monday, April 14, 9 a.m.
Where: Ridgeway Early Learning Center & Belle Forest Community School
               
Why: During the Senate recess, representatives from Senator Lamar Alexander’s office will visit prekindergarten classrooms in Shelby County Schools. Senator Alexander is the Ranking Member of U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee. This visit will allow the senator’s office an opportunity to view and discuss early childhood programs that are voluntarily funded by school districts.
